We’d be lost without many of the people who keep the wheels turning who aren’t so visible to our Members and customers. These include Front of House staff, Boatmen, administration support and other roles. Opportunities in these areas can be rare – but we’ll advertise them as soon as we have any openings available.

About Us

We are the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, a prestigious club with a rich history. We are honoured to have Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as our Patron and offer a relaxed family atmosphere, welcoming anyone with an interest in boating.
Based in a beautiful location, we host an extensive programme of activities and our Clubhouse is open nearly every day of the year.
We are now looking for a Head Chef to join us and ensure the success of our club’s catering operation.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take on an exciting, fast-paced role where no two days are the same – some of our services see over 200+ covers. You will have the chance to really make your mark, develop a highly-skilled team and take full ownership of how our kitchen is run.


The Role

As the Head Chef, you’ll oversee the smooth running of our catering operation. In this important role, you’ll be proud of the dishes your kitchen produces and the ingredients you use whilst acting as a role model for our eager Kitchen Team.

You’ll develop new and unique menu options and recipes and work with the Management Team to identify and implement their food vision for the club.

Additionally, you will:
  • Ensure an efficient service and maintain communications with the Front of House team
  • Develop and evolve dishes and recipes, showing innovation and creativity
  • Hold performance meetings with your team
  • Manage stock control and rotation
  • Ensure food quality and hygiene standards are met


About You

To join us as our Head Chef, you’ll need:
  • Previous kitchen management experience
  • The ability to motivate, inspire and lead a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure
Due to our location, it would be beneficial if you had a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle. Any of the following would also be advantageous: First Aid training, a Food, Safety & Hygiene Level 3 certification or an NVQ Level 3 Professional Cookery qualification.

Other organisations may call this role Kitchen Manager, Catering Manager, Senior Chef, Head Caterer, Head Cook, Kitchen Supervisor or Chef.

This is a full time role, working 45 hours per week. You will be required to work throughout the week including evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
