Job Opportunities

Be Part of our Team

Led by a passionate team with a shared vision to become the best Yacht Club on the South Coast the Club is set in a beautiful seaside location with a fast growing reputation as a culinary & yachting destination.

We’d be lost without many of the people who keep the wheels turning who aren’t so visible to our Members and customers. These include Front of House staff, Boatmen, administration support and other roles. Opportunities in these areas can be rare – but we’ll advertise them as soon as we have any openings available.

Our Current Roles:

Sailing Events Assistant

Does this sound like you? Then we want to hear from you!
The Royal Lymington Yacht Club are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and organised individual to join us in a busy and rapidly growing Yacht Club as our Sailing Events Assistant.
The Club is honoured to have Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal as Patron.  Many of our Members have competed for the UK in various international championships; others have achieved world circling passages. Our Clubhouse is beautifully situated and a social hub for our Members.  The view from the balcony as the sun goes down on a summer evening is magnificent.  In summer we are on the water most days of the week.  In winter, we have an extensive programme of activities and the Clubhouse is open nearly every day of the year.
We organise over 180 days of sailing each year and start over 250 races. We host events at Club, National and International level and we are very proud of our reputation on the yachting circuit. As a Club, we strongly encourage a relaxed family atmosphere and welcome everybody with an interest in boating whilst still maintaining the standards of a “Royal” Yacht Club.
Working under the direction of our Sailing Manager, your job as Sailing Events Assistant will be to
coordinate, implement and deliver the Club’s programme of sailing events. You will provide a welcoming and customer focussed service as the first point of contact for all visiting competitors to the Club and you’ll be pivotal in preparing all the event resources and documentation required to ensure these events are a success.

  • Taking a proactive lead on the Wednesday Junior Sailing administration.
To join us as our Sailing Administrator, you’ll need:
  • To be an experienced or proactive organiser / administrator.

  • To have the ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to work well under pressure
An interest in sailing is desirable but not essential.
Due to our location, it would be beneficial if you had a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

You will be required to work 40 hours throughout the week including evenings, weekends and bank holidays on an event rota basis.
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Staff pension contribution
  • Uniform
  • NFDC car parking permit.
  • 28 days holiday per year pro rata.
  • Inclusion into the annual staff fund.
