Chesapeake Bay Cruise 2019

 

Cruise dates are Friday 13th to Monday 23rd September 2019

A meeting took place on 22nd September, with over 30 members showing interest.
 
Members of The Sailing Club of Chesapeake (SCC) plan to host us on their boats. The RLymYC participants who hosted SCC members on the 2017 Solent cruise will have priority. If there are more of us than they can accommodate, our members can charter their own boats out of Annapolis to join the cruise.

FRIDAY, 9/13 ANNAPOLIS
Tour to be set up
Official Welcome and start of RLym/SCC Chesapeake Cruise, Annapolis Yacht Club
 
SATURDAY, 9/14 CHESAPEAKE YACHT CLUB on the West River
(Can anchor or be at dock)
 
SUNDAY, 9/15 WYE RIVER
Anchor on the beautiful eastern shore, Wye River
Pig Roast at the home of Rob and Linda Leigh with music
 
MONDAY, 9/16 CORSICA RIVER
Anchor on the Corsica River which is off the Chester River on the eastern shore
Swim and appetizers at the home of Bob and Liz Hammond, dinner on board
 
TUESDAY, 9/17 ROCK HALL
Rock Hall Landing Marina, pool, shop
Watermans Crab House
 
WEDNESDAY, 9/18 BALTIMORE ON THE PATAPSCO RIVER
Inner Harbor East Marina
Itinerary being planned with options to attend an Orioles baseball game at Camden Yards
 
THURSDAY, 9/19 BALTIMORE, LAY DAY
Water Taxi Tour of the Harbor and Fort McHenry
Group Dinner, restaurant to be determined
 
FRIDAY, 9/20 MAGOTHY RIVER
Anchor or dock at Gibson Island Yacht Squadron (GIYS)
Dinner on board, or grill at GIYS
 
SATURDAY, 9/21 MAGOTHY RIVER
Annual Broom “team” race between SCC and GIYS
Group Dinner at GIYS Boat House
 
SUNDAY, 9/22
Return home ports and clean boats
 
MONDAY, 9/23 Optional expedition to Washington D.C., to be determined
 
If you are interested please contact us as soon as possible and we will forward you the resume which needs to be returned to SCC by the 31st December, so they can proceed with allocating us to our SCC hosts.
