Schools Southern Sailing Regatta 2020

Event Update (April 1st 2020): Schools Southern Sailing Regatta,
In consideration of the evolving and uncertain situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Schools Southern Sailing Regatta organising committee, has made the decision to postpone this event until 2021.
All entrants will receive a refund of the entry fees and we very much hope you will join us again next year.
We will be in contact at the start of 2021 with our new date.
Thank you for the enthusiasm and support you have shown this event. We are enormously looking forward to next year Schools Southern Sailing Regatta.

The RLymYC Schools Southern Championship in association with Durlston Court School is taking place on Thursday 11th June 2020 at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club. The event is open to all schools, for pupils aged 8 to 16, who are competent RS Feva sailors. 

Online entry will be open on Friday 14th February and will close on Friday 30th May 2020.

The RS Feva is an RYA recognised youth class dinghy. This is a doublehanded dinghy with a battened sail, jib, asymetric and more advanced sail controls. For more information about this boat, visit the RS website here.

The format will be:

  • Four races scheduled daily, weather dependant.
  • Races take place in The Solent.
  • Combination of windward-leeward and/or triangle/sausage courses will be sailed. 
  • The entry free covers entry into the competition and a hot dog per competitor on return after racing.
