Royal Lymington Sailors Shine at the 420 World Championships
Congratulations to our Royal Lymington Yacht Club sailors who represented Great Britain at the 420 World Championships, held in Biscarrosse, France, from 3–11 July 2026.
Four RLymYC members competed against some of the world's best young sailors, producing some excellent results across the fleets:
- Lauren Mecklenburgh (RLymYC), sailing with Pippa Shepherd (Bosham YC & Itchenor SC), competed in the U17 fleet and finished 22nd overall from 108 boats. They were the 5th female boat and the highest-placed British crew in their fleet.
- Hector Davies (RLymYC), sailing with Sebastian Bailey, also competed in the U17 fleet, finishing 61st overall from 108 boats and as the 3rd British crew.
- Nia Mecklenburgh (RLymYC), sailing with Arthur Greaves, competed in the Mixed fleet, finishing 88th overall from 147 boats and as the 8th British crew.
- Tabitha Davies (RLymYC), sailing with Sofia Sfaxi, competed in the Women's fleet, finishing 34th overall from 49 boats and as the 2nd British crew.
Competing at a World Championship is a fantastic achievement in itself, and these results are a testament to the sailors' hard work, dedication and commitment throughout the season.
Congratulations to Lauren, Hector, Nia and Tabitha on representing both Great Britain and the Royal Lymington Yacht Club so successfully. We look forward to following their continued progress on the international stage.
