Duo Series

2021 Duo Series

Seven races throughout the summer

The club runs a Duo (double-handed) Series on various Saturdays from May to September. The ever-popular Duo Series is considered to be the most interesting and challenging race series based in the Western Solent. The series involves exciting, varied and highly competitive races, including to the Eastern Solent, Christchurch Bay and around the Island. Boats can be raced single- or double-handed, providing socially distanced racing on a range of keelboats.

A series of 7 races throughout the season from May to September, with IRC and Lymington Adjusted Handicap fleets, and open to all boats and skippers. Long courses are set from near the Lymington River entrance, heading east or west taking advantage of the tidal flows and changes, typically of 3 hours duration heading beyond Cowes to the east or out through the Hurst Narrows into Christchurch Bay to the west, and finishing at the RLymYC Starting Platform. We also have a most socially acceptable Around The Island race from Lymington when conditions allow.

Entry is free to members of the RLymYC and LTSC
