The "Scow Nationals" are being hosted by the Royal Lymington YC this year and we are hoping for a record entry in all three classes - Single-handers, Double-handers and Juniors.   There are prizes galore for all Classes and some extra ones as well. (Details in the Notice of Race)

Vince Sutherland will be our PRO.  Vince has acted as PRO for all the Club's Scow Evens for the past several years.  He knows the courses Scows like to sail, he knows how we dislike hanging around.  Vince will give us good racing.

With the co-operation of the Harbour Master we expect to have exclusive use of the slipway for the 45 minutes or so needed to launch the three Fleets  on each day and we are gearing up to provide a good number of Slipway Marshals to help with getting afloat and above all recovery.

Visitors will be allocated berths in the Balance Pond, the dinghy party adjacent to the slipway, or on the lawn of the LTSC.  Dinghy trailers may be parked in the premises of the RORC Measurement Office, to the side of the LTSC.

There will be coffee and tea on arrival, packed lunches may be ordered from the Club and, or course, after racing on the Saturday there will be the traditional afternoon tea, to be held on the Club Balcony and sheltered from the elements by a marquee.  And the bar will be open for most of the day.

On the Saturday evening ALL LRSCA Members are invited to a special Mid-Summer Party - whether they are taking part in the sailing or not.  Tickets are just £17.50 to include  two courses and a glass of wine and there will be a  singer/guitarist to provide some background music.

So put the dates in your diary and join in the fun.  (This year we are hoping that most Competitors will use the On-line entry facility on this website but a traditional entry form is part of the Notice of Race (to be published around the end of March).

If you just want to come along for the Mid-Summer Party you can follow the link  and book on-line as well, or call the Office on 01590 672677 to reserve your tickets.)

(Acting) Captain of Scows, RLymYC
