It’s that time of year to test your ‘thermals’ and ‘oilies’ and get out on the water with your Club.  Please pencil in your diary the 22 January for a day sail and/or motor cruise to Yarmouth followed by walk/jog to the Red Lion Pub at Freshwater.  Berths have been organised at Yarmouth.

If you cannot face the walk along the old railway track to Freshwater Village then there is a half hourly bus service (no.7) from Yarmouth Harbour.  If you’re lucky enough to have a bus pass then it’s a free trip!  If you haven’t a pass and prefer a taxi then let the organiser know as a people carrier can be organised for a reasonable sum with the Pub, (carries 8 persons).

The briefing for this event is at 9.00 am on the 22 January in the Royal Lymington YC Club bar and it’s important that skippers attend.  Your organiser is to confirm to Yarmouth Harbour the names and lengths of boats requiring berths and to the Red Lion the number of diners with their meal choices.

What’s on offer at the Red Lion?  - main courses at £11 each are: Chicken and Leek Pie (C), Steak Pie (S), both served with new potatoes carrots and peas: and Battered Fish and Chips with peas (F).  It is important that you provide your meal options on the list below.  This allows us to pre-advise the Red Lion and helps to ensure a speedy service and smooth transition from the pub to your boat afterwards. Starters and sweets are available, (tick as appropriate), and your organiser will advise what they are nearer the time.

Welcome aboard and your Committee look forward to seeing you on the 22nd.  Please provide your email and mobile number (MOB) details on the attached list should any of the arrangements have to be varied.

Please sign up on the notice board at reception.

Haven’t got a berth? Let your organiser know and we’ll see who needs crew.

Please remember that the decision to participate in events organised by the Club is the responsibility of the skipper of each participating boat. Experience of the skipper and crew and likely weather conditions are just some of the factors that skippers may need to consider when reaching such a decision.
