2020 RLymYC RS Feva Autumn Championships

Event Cancelled

Event Update, 23rd October;

Dear Competitor,
Very sadly we have taken the decision to cancel the whole event scheduled for this weekend, since our email yesterday there has been a deterioration in the weather forecast. The low causing the problem has deepened and we can now expect wind gusts of 25 knots or more on Sunday rather than the 18 - 20 forecast yesterday.
The forecast has also deteriorated for Monday so there will be no race/training activities on Monday 26th October.
Lucy from the Feva Class will arrange full refunds.

We hope to welcome you back to Lymington soon!

Dear Vicky
A question re the RS Feva event to be held at the club this coming weekend. Looking at the weather forecast (I know it is a little way off yet) there appears to be a good breeze, this will most probably result in some capsizing. Will mast floats be allowed? I ask this both as a parent of Harry West and as a safety boat for the event (mast floats obviously reduce the number of turtled boats and in turn reduce the need for interaction between safety boats and competitors, therefore reducing the risk of transmission of Covid.) The RYA did allow mast floats at their recent Regional Junior Championships and squad selector events for this reason, please see email below from the RYA’s Sarah Knox-Johnston and the attached PDF of the question being asked through their virtual race officer form.
Kind regards
Nicola West
