Needles Relief 2026

The Needles Relief Race is an annual charity sailing event in the Western Solent, jointly organised by the Royal Lymington Yacht Club and Royal Solent Yacht Club to raise money for the RNLI. It has its origins in the historical tradition of the Royal Lymington Yacht Club providing Christmas "relief" to the manned Needles Lighthouse. The event includes both racing and a festive, community atmosphere with members encouraged to participate by sailing, motoring, or taking a ferry.
