We are grateful to the businesses and organisations that support Royal Lymington Yacht Club with sponsorship and advertising. A number of opportunities are available each year, including buoy sponsorship, event sponsorship and advertising in our printed publications. Supporting businesses also receive positive and far-reaching exposure on our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn) and in our direct email communications.

Sponsorship opportunities with RLymYC

Buoy Sponsorship

The Solent is the premier yacht racing area in the UK. Many club, national and international events are run in the Solent involving thousands of sailors over the course of the year. All the yacht clubs around the Solent, not only RLymYC, publish the names of the buoys which are then used to identify the course by the racing boats. The branding on the buoys is also visible to other Solent users including those cruising by motor or sailboat and many are also visible from the Isle of Wight ferries. This means that your sponsored buoy will be seen by a large and diverse audience.

The sponsorship process is simple and managed entirely for you by Royal Lymington Yacht Club. Please contact us to discuss availability.

Starting Platform Sponsorship

The Platform is placed in an ideal location to catch passing boats and ferry passengers' eyes. A premium place to advertise as it is visible to those using the Western Solent and leaving the Lymington River. Prices vary depending on the size and location of the advert placed.

Event Sponsorship

Event sponsorship provides an opportunity to become closely associated with a particular Club event. This could be a regatta, series of races over the seas, cruising rallies, youth training or a social event ashore. The Royal Lymington Yacht Club has many years of experience in jointly managing successful and mutually beneficial partnerships with our sponsors. 

Major sponsors will have full accreditation on all event publicity which results in the promotion throughout the Club membership, to the local media and to national yachting media. The Club may also provide facilities for direct promotion to the Membership and provide corporate hospitality facilities for the sponsor.

Bespoke packages

At the Royal Lymington Yacht Club, we are able to tailor make a package to suit your company's budget or interests. It could be an advert on our starting platform at the entrance to the Lymington River or adding your branding to a support boat for the season. Please book an appointment to come in, get to know us and see how we can work together to find the perfect fit.

 

Advertise in RLymYC publications

Our publications enable your business to advertise directly to the members of the Royal Lymington Yacht Club. Advertising in our printed publications provides you with an excellent opportunity to reach a niche target market. Our readers are householders and boat owners who purchase a wide range of goods and services, with many interests in addition to boating. Readership includes all genders and spans all ages; our advertising opportunities are certain to reach:

• Over 2,300 members of the Royal Lymington Yacht Club
• Approximately 1,800 households: 80% local to Lymington and district
• More than 1,000 boat owners

PotterShip Magazine

An A4 bound magazine summarising racing, cruising and social happenings in the Club in the past year. The PotterShip is a popular coffee-table publication which is retained in Members' homes. It achieves considerable pass-on readership and is circulated to other yacht Clubs, class associations and yachting organisations worldwide. This annual publication is distributed in March each year. 

The Members' Handbook

An annual book of members' contact details, boat names and useful sailing data including tide tables. This is an essential document for all RLymYC members which is constantly referred to at home and onboard throughout the year. Published in March, colour and mono advertising space is available throughout the publication.

Sailing and Powerboating Programme

A pocket-size booklet which details all racing events in the coming year. It is mailed to all members and retained for reference throughout the season from March to December. One advertising space is available on the back cover.
