Members may have noticed a huge buzz of excitement in the Solent Room last Friday night as the Annual Junior Prize-giving was taking place!  Besides all the young sailors and their parents there were all the Fleet Captains of the Junior Fleets – Becky Hutchinson and Kevin Coster for the Optimists, Helen MacAlister - Tera’s, Eleanor Mordaunt and Nicky Mecklenburgh - Feva’s, and John Vinycomb - Laser’s. The MC for the evening was Paul MacStay Captain of Juniors, and other guests included Commodore Michael Derrick and the RCS Jenny Wilson.

To present the awards we had our Yachtsman of the Year Hattie Rogers, and to finish the lineup were the five Club members representing their country at the Youth Worlds in December in Brazil - Noa Moskovitch, Annabelle Vines, Henry Heathcote, Jack-Graham Troll and Sam Webb. Prizes were many and various from those performing well at National Championships to the most improved in 2023 to Coaches Pick and Sportsmanship Awards.

Prizes were also awarded for those who had done well in the Friday Evening Race series and those who had taken part in the recent Eric Twiname Team Racing Championships.
