Winter Lecture by Peter Bell
On Wednesday 30th November we're delighted to be welcoming Peter Bell.
Peter’s talk relates what happened in 2021 when his return to the UK from southern Portugal was seriously compromised by bad weather, bad luck and poor cartography. He describes how he and Mary survived a disastrous crash and 6 weeks in a Spanish boatyard 4m in the air. He also discusses being towed by a Portugese life boat and what to look out for should that happen to you. As ever there are deviations into the cultural and historic aspects of the ports and harbours visited.
Peter & Mary have been sailing since 2007 and have now become quite experienced within the limits of their ambitions. Their Adventures over the last 4 years have been documented in the series “The Adventures of Dofesaba II etc.”. They both give talks on this subject to anyone who wants them to. Both are full Members of the RLymYC.
They currently sail
Dofesaba II a 42 foot Southerly RST and have done since 2013
