Annual Dinner & Trafalgar Night Celebration

We are delighted to invite Members and their guests to join us for the Royal Lymington Yacht Club's Annual Dinner & Trafalgar Night Celebration, one of the highlights of the Club's social calendar.

An evening celebrating the Club, its Members and our shared maritime heritage, this special occasion brings everyone together for a traditional four course dinner, the presentation of our Annual Club Trophies, and the opportunity to recognise the achievements and contributions of our sailing community over the past year.

We are also particularly delighted to welcome fellow Club Member, Wing Commander Andy Green OBE, as our guest speaker for the evening.

About Our Guest Speaker – Wing Commander Andy Green OBE

Wing Commander Andy Green OBE is a former Royal Air Force fighter pilot and holder of the World Land Speed Record. In October 1997, he made history by becoming the first person to officially break the sound barrier on land, driving the British jet-powered ThrustSSC to an extraordinary 763.035 mph across Nevada's Black Rock Desert.

A mathematics graduate of Oxford University, Andy enjoyed a distinguished RAF career flying Phantom and Tornado fighter aircraft before becoming involved in the pioneering ThrustSSC project. His achievements continued in 2006 when he drove the JCB Dieselmax to a new diesel land speed record of 350.092 mph.

As both a fellow Club Member and a figure in British engineering and motorsport history, we look forward to welcoming Andy as our guest speaker for what promises to be a memorable evening.
