I am very pleased to advise that at our General Committee meeting last week, the GC appointed Kirsty Husband as General Manager. This will mean some re-organisation of responsibilities in the Office and we will be producing an updated structure chart in the next few days once discussions have been held.
I know recent personnel changes have been unsettling for some employees and the appointment of Kirsty in this key management position is designed to put someone who really understands and empathizes with the Royal Lymington Yacht Club in overall management control. As such, all employees will now report to Kirsty.
We believe this appointment positions the Club in an excellent place to maximise the effectiveness and value of our new RYA Training initiative, as well as making sure we deliver the food and beverage offerings that our Members require. Organising and running the right internal and external events that generate the desired financial surplus will now come under one person rather than the split responsibilities we have had since outsourcing our food and beverage service.
I know you will join me in wishing Kirsty all the best in her new role.
Now the sun is out, we look forward to an enjoyable summer on the water and in the Clubhouse.
