The National Championships return this year as an eagerly anticipated standalone event, bringing together the best Sailors from across the country in the quest for the Crown of National Nordic Folkboat Champion. The stakes are high, with every tack and gybe crucial as participants navigate challenging racecourses set by the experienced team at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club As the quality of the racing and boats across the Solent and beyond has increased rapidly over the past few years with many innovations being added to a classic design, alongside some of the most experienced racers with backgrounds from many fleets and we look forward to some dramatic racing. We have organised socials to match for our racers to discuss and enjoy the camaraderie of the Folkboat fleet. Based at the Royal Lymington clubhouse, we will start with welcome drinks whilst our RO will brief the fleet about the intricacies of the coming weekend. On the Saturday, we invite all boats back to the club straight after racing for BBQ and music on the balcony, as we reflect on the first day’s racing. On Sunday, after the second day of adrenaline packed racing, we will return to crown the Champion with a glass of Fizz…..
Friday 21st June from 1730hrs Starts with drinks, mixing with other clubs members for music on the Balcony. Briefing at 1830hrs with an option for main course meal after briefing £15.. Saturday 22nd June from 1700hrs Saturday evening music and BBQ on the Balcony Come to clubhouse straight after racing for drinks and a BBQ. Early start and home before dark ready for Day 2 of the Nationals !! Moorings available for visiting Folkboats or ribs. Sunday 23rd June
