We have a varied fleet of powerboats including RIBs, a launch, tiller steered Rigiflexs, and a Cheetah Marine multihull. Haven Jubilee is our go to boat for most powerboat courses. She was launched by our patron, HRH The Princess Royal, in 2022 and is fitted with depth sounder and electronic navigation aids.
We have a fleet of over 55 sailing dinghies: from Optimists and Hartley10s to RS Fevas and Topaz Argos - with many classes in between! We invest in our fleet, maintaining our boats to a high standard. We also can't wait to welcome a fleet of RS Zests in early 2024!
Our clubhouse sits right on the waters edge- it is possible to walk out the classroom door and be on the water in seconds! We have a large pontoon where we store most of our sailing dinghies, with an innovative floating slipway to launch them without having to get wet. It also provides a great space to tie boats up to for lunch limiting the amount of times you have to pull them up the slipway!
We have access to some of the best sailing areas on the South Coast. The sheltered lakes provide a great space to take to the water for the first time and the Western Solent provides a more challenging area for those looking to push themselves.
Our instructors provide a friendly welcome and bring a wealth of experience to the club. We really couldn't do it without them!
Royal Lymington Yacht Club believes that volunteers who contribute their time to the sailing programme should benefit from the opportunity to further their qualifications at a minimal cost. Therefore our course fees are considerably less than those charged at a commercial training centre. Officers responsible for each sailing or powerboating section will nominate volunteers who should be rewarded with priority places on training. RLymYC reserves the right to allocate course places to best suit volunteer training requirements. Non-member volunteers may also get priority but will be charged the non-member rate. At the Club’s discretion places maybe allocated in order to ensure the cost effectiveness of the course.
There will be no refunds for bespoke lessons. If you can't make a lesson which you have paid for, notice should be given within 7 days when an alternative date maybe be considered. The Club may cancel or postpone the lesson at any stage in the event of bad weather, equipment failure or otherwise during which an alternative date or refund will be offered. Our full cancellation policy can be viewed here: https://rlymyc.org.uk/getmedia/24adf169-0d10-4be7-a2a0-90f765cf3273/RLymYC_EventCancellationPolicy.aspx
