Wednesday Junior Sailing

Wednesday Junior Sailing (WJS) is in its 40th season!

WJS is a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Onboard Centre that takes place at the Royal Lymington Yacht Club on Wednesday afternoons between April and September. It is run by passionate volunteers, who give up their time to help encourage the next generation of water users.

Wednesday Junior Sailing is generously sponsored by

WJS is a community based sailing scheme, open to all local children aged 8-18 who live or go to school in or close to Lymington. No previous sailing experience is needed. Our aim is to let children have fun through developing sailing and associated life skills. These include helping children with teamwork, determination, communication, independence, confidence and creativity.

Children sail for two hours either between 1400 and 1600 or from 1600 to 1800 each  Wednesday between April and September. The cost is £1 per session. Children are expected to stay for the whole session.

Children must be registered at least 24 hours before their first session. Registration is only required once a year. WJS operates on a first come, first served basis on the day, as on some occasions we may need to limit the number of sailors. Joining Instructions are below.

During 2024 WJS will start on Wednesday 24 April and run through to Wednesday
25 September. There is no WJS during Youth Week which runs from 19-22 August.
